Best Beaches in Westhampton

Westhampton’s legendary beaches are stretched across one long dune, traversed by the well-traveled Dune Road. It’s here, on this narrow swath of land, that some of the sunniest and most beautifully appointed beaches in the United States reside. Please note, however, that to gain access to some of these beaches you must have a guest pass from a local or nearby hotel—check with your hotel if they offer passes before you reserve a room in Westhampton.

1. Rogers Beach

Besides being one of the most popular beaches in Westhampton, Rogers Beach features a beautifully maintained deck to sit, eat, relax, and enjoy the view. For refreshments, there’s a snack bar set right on the sand, offering cold drinks and a variety of treats. Lifeguards are situated across the beach all day, every day during the in-season months. Rogers Beach also offers a spacious parking lot, clean restrooms, and showers to help wash the sand off after a day of fun in the sun. Requires a hotel pass or other resident beach pass.

2. Lashley Beach

A little more secluded than other beaches, Lashley is a popular surf spot, with excellent waves and excellent accommodations. Like many beaches on the grand dune of Dune Road, Lashley has beautiful, wide vistas of uninterrupted sand to camp out on and set up an umbrella. Though there’s no snack bar, there is good parking, showers, restrooms, and lifeguards. Requires a hotel pass or other resident beach pass.

3. Cupsogue Beach

Covering 296 acres, Cupsogue is a public, county-run beach that offers vacationers a whole smorgasbord of activities, including swimming on its white sand beaches, saltwater bass fishing, scuba diving, and camping. Wading out into the crystal-clear water, you can spot crabs and fish, while all kinds of seashells and sea glass are scattered across the sand. All beaches are supervised by lifeguards and kept very clean, while restrooms, showers, first aid centers, and food concessions are distributed conveniently across the length of the park. An excellent place for families with RVs and anyone looking for a real taste of the Westhampton sun.
